Sachin Tendulkar becomes the IAF's honorary Group Captain

Sachin Tendulkar becomes the IAF's honorary Group Captain

Sachin Tendulkar was conferred with the Indian Air Force's honorary rank of Group Captain to honour his cricketing achievements and contribution to the nation. Tendulkar is the only sportsperson to be conferred a rank by the Indian Air Force and the first personality with no aviation background to receive the honour.

In his cricketing career he might have crossed a number of milestones, but this one I believe is one he will cherish all his life time. According to the IAF this move could motivate the younger generation to join the Air Force to serve the country one day.

Congratulations and Hats off to you Sachin...

You have been totally inspring to all of us in your own way.

Sachin Tendulkar's Tweet on his Tweeter Account:

sachin_rt - An afternoon with the Indian Air Warriers was something I will cherish throughout my life. What a terrific way to serve our motherland!
